Lucy Colman Home Site, Syracuse

Empty lots mark the sites of 410 and 412 Gifford Street (the beige house at right is 408 and street numbers run to the left).

Lucy Colman lived in a house on this site during the final part of her life. Here she composed her 1891 autobiography, Reminiscences, and here she died on January 18, 1906, aged eighty-eight. The neighborhood is composed of small wood frame houses in various states of repair. It is not known when the house at 412 Gifford was demolished.
