Lucy Colman lived in a house on this site during the final part of her life. Here she composed her 1891 autobiography, Reminiscences, and here she died on January 18, 1906, aged eighty-eight. The neighborhood is composed of small wood frame houses in various states of repair. It is not known when the house at 412 Gifford was demolished.
